The Tropic Chronicles

Greetings, readers, to a very special edition of your weekly Chronicles! Of course there are people still unsure of the big news, so we'll go ahead and say it here: you've heard it right! Earlier this week, Monday Specifically, the last of the Cassandrian troops were either killed or captured by the Order and by Minervian forces! As well, Aera herself engaged both Quinn and Quincy, two of the famed leaders of the Q-men, and stopped them from detonating an elaborate bomb that would destroy what engineers have reckoned would be more than half of Jadranovo. With these events combined, after several weeks of hard fighting Jadranovo has finally fallen to the Order and Republic! This is a massively historic event, for not only was it the 5th most important Cassandrian City, their naval HQ, historically important to the Cassandrians, BUT, dear readers, this is the first time in history that a Theodosian power has not only proven a threat to Firedonia, but has assaulted, defeated, and successfully taken a city from them. Along with the industrial, morale, and historical blows this loss has caused, casualty estimates have confirmed that around sixty percent, or around 72 thousand men and woman, were either killed or captured, leaving only forty percent left of the entire Third Cassadrian Royal Army. Heavy naval losses were also suffered by Cassandrian forces; however, in a surprising turn of events, Grand Admiral Tyron negotiated a cease fire with the Cassandrian fleet to allow for a peaceful evacuation of citizens from the city. Critics on the right have blasted Tyron for his decision, as it also allowed the rest of the Cassandria fleet to withdraw along with the evacuation fleet ad therefore allowed them to conserve more power, however interviews from multiple sources have confirmed that the Admiral and his many backers stand firmly behind his decision. This is the second major defeat to happen for Cassandrian troops since the first during Operation Sezal, and with the combat in Nima drawing to a close from battlefield reports it would seem that yet a third major loss is on the way for them, particularly as they had been attempting to reinforce the 3rd Army. While other international reactions have yet to be gleamed, Minervian morale is higher than ever with Jadranovo taken. The Order's assault allowed them to withdraw troops during Operation Sezal, and the boldness of the operation aka the attack right from the sea likely skipped weeks or even months of what could have been a very bloody campaign.


In other news, Noah Balsiger, the President of the National Bank of Colleita, was killed on Wednesday during a fierce wind storm with light rain coverage. During the wind storm a particularly thick oak tree came crashing down onto the man's carriage; fortunately, or about as well as the word can be applied to a death, Noah died instantly and was likely unaware he even died. He has since been replaced, which in a twist of fate has allowed negotiations for a trade deal between the Republic and Colletia to move forward For those unaware, the President of the National Bank was a centerpieces in providing a fierce opposition platform for any deals with the Republic. He was also rumored and set for investigation over claims of his using money from the Bank to fund the Cassandrian war efforts. Naturally, these have been called off.


And finally for the front page, Parliament has finished meeting and has successfully voted to add a provision to the Constitution regarding the treatment of non-human species. With this provision comes guaranteed rights and treatment for Dragonoids, Orcs, and Saurians. This provision was made in light of a surprising surge of immigrants from Boreas, especially from the Extraho Empire, after the passage of the CTV program, or Citizenship Through Valor program. For those uninformed, the CTV act details methods and paths for immigrants from Northern Nerio's troubled lands to earn instant citizenship for their families while serving the Republic or the Order in some way, either through science, support roles, or on the front lines. The program guarantees grants of money and housing to help newly arriving families to settle down and begin making their roots in Republic land, and offers equal support to these families in the case of the death of the family member or members serving in the CTV. Already the Order has swooped in and created their own Foreign Legion, the Valor Legion, creating a combined fighting force of Orcs, Saurians, and Dragonoids, and is set to begin deploying them soon. King Derrick has expressed high approval for the astounding results of the CTV, and has approved the granting of increased funding for the program.

"Today Queen Cassandra has awarding 33 young Orphan Girls who survived against the overwhelming odds at Jadranovo. They heroically did their patriotic duty and fought against the invaders. A ten year old girl of note named Lenka who risked her life by luring some Order Marines with Rapist Intentions towards her, lure them into an ambush and our heroic soldiers gunned the rapists down. She was awarded the Order of Freyja the Liberator as well as 32 other girls. Queen Cassandra praised these young girls and have promised them to be given to good families to be given a proper upbringing.

A quote from our Queen about the fall of Jadranovo, "Today we've learned of a set back. For our enemies as they have suffered greatly. The Order doesn't have the manpower we have in Firedonia and every loss for them is another drain on their population. These Island people don't have the sheer manpower nor the will that we Firedonians have. They fear us in truth. They fear myself even and I don't blame them. When I came for them in North Pageland they in turn attacked a city under siege. Rather than face me. But if they find their courage they can meet me on the battlefield soon."

Paradise City Chronicle

"The Romano Newspapers are in chaos but we've got reporters have reported that Emperor Bacchus Imperator exiled his mother from Romanorum in a powerplay. However a week after this given the Emperor's behavior in dealing with the Rebel Governors the Senate declared the Emperor an enemy to the Senate and People of Romanorum and declared that it's the duty of all citizens to do him harm and if able to kill him. With his Praetorian Guard betraying him he was forced to flee the city.

The Emperor was discovered in a small hut 5 miles from the city with a sword in his gut and appears to be a suicide. Once his death was confirmed the Senate begun an election of a Consul and to abolish the Emperor completely. This motion was lead by Senator Pehamous the Elder and at first looked like that the motion would have passed but was rejected in the end thanks to a group of senators lead by Rodrigo Gorgia. Rodrigo Gorgia called for another vote to declare himself Emperor of Romanorum. The vote was in his favor as he was elected Emperor of the Romano Empire.

After the vote outside of the senate house Senator Pehamous the Elder and several of his top supporters who declared to the public that Rodrigo had bribed his way into the title of Emperor and is standing in the way of a new Romano Republic. That night Senator Pehamous the Elder and all of his supporters were murdered and General Cesare Gorgia was declared General of the Army.

Days later armies raised by General Marius, General Proculus Aebutius Tuditanus, and General Auro De Grazia have raised their own armies to fight the Gorgia lead army. However each man declared himself Emperor and now each army are had odds. The Empress Bellona has raised an army at Domum lead by General Appius Furius Olympicus, who she promised to marry if he wins the war and declare him Emperor.

The Rebel Governors are on the fence but one Governor has declared himself Emperor with the support of several other governors. Governor Tirone Andriani with the support of Governor Alec Udo, Governor Matteo Schiaffino, and Governor Donato Accardo.

Overall Civil War has begun within the Empire and the course of events will decide the fate of Nerio forever."

The Tropic Chronicles

Welcome readers to another edition of the Tropic Chronicles!

It's been a quiet two weeks overseas, at least in the Firedonian civil war, where the Minervians and their allies gather to launch an offensive while the Cassandrians prepare to defend their holdings. We don't know too much, but we do know that the war could resume at any time, so enjoy the quiet with your families while you can.

In other news, new inventions rock the Republic! In the vehicular department full-blown designs called "automobiles" have been shown at science conventions all across Republic territories. Based somewhat off our Steam Tanks, these automobiles are four-wheeled and much smaller, and of course lack any weapons or real armor. Powered by a combination of steam and bolton technology, these handy little machines can go for quite a distance, faster and longer than the old horse and carriage, and thanks to the design of of the wheels is better at handling obstacles like potholes. While only a few are out right now, we have high hopes that these automobiles will soon be a common sight on the Republic's roads!

In other news, hear that sound? We sure do! That's right, the Guild has recently released what they're calling "phoograph cylinders". Basically, music gets recorded onto wax disks, which can be placed onto a spinning "record" with a needle that drags along the record as it plays. It then plays the actual sound of music out through a long tube! It does vocals, instrumentals, and everything in between!
Now you can listen to your favorite jingles and bands in the comfort of your own home!


Romanorum Time

"Battle of Verolavecchia is over with our heroic legions defeating the rebels under Tirone Andriani. The Traitors, Donato Accardo and Matteo Schiaffino were found dead soon after and the remains fled eastwards with the Army under General Tiberius Blossius in close chase!
