Yea, sounds like Speed/Thrash with some hardcore punk elements. Pretty good.

Yeah, sorry man, so far none of them are really my cup of whiskey but none of them were absolutely terrible...I listen to metal mainly for the violence aspect, and so far none of those were really too violent

Decapitated, Bloodbath, Nile, and Deathspell Omega are the most violent bands I listen to. You may enjoy Blut Aus Nord.

krazycrismore wrote:I really don't consider any specific sub-genres of metal to be especially sucky. However, there are a few sub-genres that I find to be a bit boring and unoriginal. The 'Djent' style bands I honestly find horribly repetitive. I have only listened to Meshuggah, but from what I have heard, that is what most sound like. Honestly, I find the 80% of their music sounds the same. Another genre I find somewhat boring is Groove. I really tried to get in Exhorder, but it just didn't really do much for me, and I enjoy Pantera much less. Not to mention my utter lack of respect for Pantera. The last genre I find somewhat 'fake' is 'metalcore'. When I say metalcore, I am not talking about the original metalcore from the 80s, which is now known as Crossover Thrash which is a combination of Thrash Metal and Hardcore punk, made famous by bands like SOD and DRI. Rather, I am referring to the post-hardcore mixed with watered down melodeath made famous by bands like BFMV, A7X, and Killswitch Engage. While some of them contain mostly metal elements, I find most of them are closer to rock and punk rather than metal. I haven't listened to much Doom, Drone, Stoner, or Sludge Metal, so I don't have any opinion on them.

I wouldn't say that Death Metal is my favorite sub-genre of metal. I would say that Progressive and Avant-Garde are my favorite sub-genres.

you clearly haven't listened to enough djent try this on for size
