The Stand was pretty great.
If you are into Dark Tower, you have to read:
- The Stand
- Rose Madder
- Insomnia
- It
- Salem's Lot
Those four have a little to do with Dark Tower indirectly. At least in the sense that they touch upon Tower themes or have characters that pop up in Tower. Also, The Talisman and The Black House pretty much are spin-offs of Tower, and are effectively a MUST read for Tower fans.
If you are into Dark Tower, you have to read:
- The Stand
- Rose Madder
- Insomnia
- It
- Salem's Lot
Those four have a little to do with Dark Tower indirectly. At least in the sense that they touch upon Tower themes or have characters that pop up in Tower. Also, The Talisman and The Black House pretty much are spin-offs of Tower, and are effectively a MUST read for Tower fans.

Yeah Ka-Tet, remember in The Wasteland (i think) when the group goes into an abandoned city with newspapers about a super-flu (or something, it's been a while)? That took place in the Stand's universe.

someone pointed it out in a dark tower connections thread i was in. i think it was in the scene where Eddie killed one of the mutated people. i'd have to check again though
