Your first real book

Postby tau43 » Tue May 15, 2012 10:13 pm

What was your first real chapter book you ever read. By chapter I mean at least 5.
I think mine was Beyond the Deepwoods from The Edge Chronicles.

Oh dear God the Nostalgia! Beyond the Deepwoods was amazing! As were the other books.

My first proper book? The Hobbit, age 4.

La Vida es Sueño - 6th or 7th grade, I believe.

This was a TERRIBLE read for me. I read other spanish books as school asignments, and dreaded each and every one of them. I didn't realize it at the time, but the problem was in me not being able to propperly absorb spanish writing. It wasn't untill I got my hands on Stephen King's The Stand (sophomore year in high school, I think) that I found the wonders of throwing yourself wholely into a book.

Jwlynas is probably familiar with my first real book - at least the series, anyway.

It was one of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books. Don't recall which since it was a really long time ago but I recall enjoying it. After that I read 5 or 6 of her Secret Seven books.

Let it be known, Dreager1, that I am removing you from my foe's list. Having seen your recent posts on the mainland you have come across as a rather intelligent individual with the potential to become a good debater - you have a long way to go...a really long way to go.

As for your reads. A book is a book but damn try something better.

Cirque Du Freak when I was like, 7.
The movie infected it with Americanitis.

Thanks :) Well I have read much bigger books, but those are the ones I started out with. I've read Demonata, part of Cirque De Freak (Stopped permanately because of animal violence) Started Narnia 3 times (But kept stopping. I'm on my 4th try), Warriors, Seekers, etc. Though I'm on a 6 month break from books to get caught up on comics and encyclopedias

I did some meditating. And I am unsure if it was Deepwoods or Dragon Slippers(Kind of a chick book, but I liked it).
