The Hunger Games (Includes whole trilogy)

Postby Mr. Snuggles » Wed May 02, 2012 6:58 pm

Recently, a few weeks ago, I finished the whole trilogy of books of The Hunger Games Series. I was wondering if anyone read the whole trilogy too or at least the first and/or second. If so, tell me your opinion on the book and trilogy itself if you read the whole trilogy. I personally loved the books and felt attached to the characters but that is just me. Not just that but the setting characters, nice twists. I am not saying this book is the best thing ever but it is probably the best damn young adult rated book ever and very thought-provoking.

Anyways, post your opinion on here and also to all those who haven't read the book but want to, spoilers are allowed so read it first before posting on here lol. "May the odds be in your favor"

I was a little turned off by the whole twilightesque dystopia thing. There were a few scenes I found poignant, but overall it was a little too predictable for me, which I blame more on it being a young-adult book more than anything else. For what it was it was pretty good, but I doubt that I'll read it again like some other books I have.

The books are great for a teen novel in my opinion. I liked it better than the Percy Jackson series.

Nay, looks nice...but it's young adult...better than Eragon - though I have seen better fanfic than Eragon so it really doesn't count as compliment - I heard it was a first person narrative. Meh, not really my style despite enjoying Robin Hobb's Fool's Errand and David Gemmell's Morningstar - that man never got it wrong for me.

Maybe, I'll just stick with the movies. Sociology has made me cut down on a lot of the books I wanted to try...now I am more inclined towards more sociological and political reads. The only fiction I read - and if I do - is restricted to either the tested and tried or to those I REALLY want to give a try.

A little too predictable, but all the same, it's a good read.
