Greetings readers, welcome to another edition of the Tropic Chronicles! We sure hope you're enjoying your bonus pay, because we here certainly are! For those who don't know, the Order of the Piercing Gaze generously donated 5 billion gold to every province in the Republic! That's right, not five hundred, not five thousand, not even five million, but five BILLION. While the exact motivation behind this is unclear, the government has stated that this money is to go to the infrastructure, the education facilities, the hospitals, the orphanages, and all the hard working citizens of the Republic! So enjoy your money, everyone!

In other news, new constructs are being sent off to the reaches of the Republic. Several of them are around buildings belonging to the Mages Guild, while others are helping with the Republic's construction projects. So far the latter have gotten a record of being completed ahead of schedule thanks to these things, leaving more than enough time to plan out more projects or to just relax.

As well, Prime Minister Aera has recently published a book of her own, titled "How to make and keep a mate, for men and women". Her book covers tips, tricks, and suggestions for men and women of not just humans, but elves, werewolves, vampires, and Mist Equines! She covers topics such as self-esteem and overcoming your shyness, social etiquette, how to treat your significant other, how to set traps to catch your love, tips on cooking, and so much more! "I was told to write a private journal since I'm now the Queen of Firedonia and it would be wise for me to write down my thoughts. So where to begin. Well I just at the beginning. 20 minutes went by but it felt like 20 hours before they found us. I don't know how they found us but the floor board was lifted up and they pulled us out by our hairs. I held onto Theresa for as long as possible and we were lifted up to our feet one of the men grabbed his knife and slit my mother's throat. Luckily my sister was looking away not noticing our mother's death but I on the other hand saw the knife go in and didn't look away. As the light of her eyes left her we were dragged out of our home before they set it aflame. Dragged away in chains with thousands of other young women and girls.

A few miles away from the town we saw thousands our bodies. Thousands of Firedonian men lay dead as they fought heroic to protect us. But in the end it was in vain. A roughly week of marching later on the 18th of Maj we arrived in Flagellos and we were lead down the streets as the people cheered. The City Cryers declared us the first slaves from the conquest of Firedonia. Of course things were thrown at us, men would tell us that we're in for a good fucking, and the women laughed at us. I didn't care though I had a mission now which was to protect Theresa by any means. A task I would fail in the end.

We arrived at Acoz, the largest slave training complex in Flagellos. They train slaves from all over the world with the goal of creating the best slaves money can buy. It also doubled as an execution center. On the outer areas of the complex were within public and slave viewing, 20 gallows, 8 chopping blocks, 30 crosses to crucify, 20 human size cages to leave them to rot, a manmade pool where they would attach a heavy stone to a slave and drop them into it for drowning, and a pit where they had a dragon in there. It appears they captured it and cut the wings off and since it can't breathe fire it wasn't a threat. So with a trap door over the pit they would throw slaves in there to be eaten by the dragon. Of course it was later I learned that over half of the executed were not slaves at all but criminals that was sentenced to death. They would be dressed as slaves so it would appear to incoming slaves that they will execute you for any reason. At first I couldn't tell the difference but once I learned it was the criminal who has their tongues cut out before execution to avoid any attempt of screaming their last words. Slaves were not allowed to have last words before death.

Inside of the complex itself was of course the massive series of cages that holds 50 per cell but always was filled with nearly 100 people per cell. There was a massive torture center which was divided into two sections. The first section was for training. When a slave failed in their task or disobeyed a command, or talked was whipped, beaten, or on a device of some kind. The second section was for harder victims with a series of whipping posts, racks, wooden ponies, chains, pillarys, and such.

With luck I was still with my sister and did what I could to protect her. From the trainers and from the other slaves who would try and steal her food. On day another slave tried to steal from Theresa and I fought her and in the struggle I picked up a rock and bashed her skull in. It was the first person I ever killed and it wasn't an easy thing to deal with at the time. But I didn't had time to deal with what happened as the trainers rushed into the cell and dragged me out of there while I was screaming at the others that if they touch my sister I will murder them too. Not the smartest thing to say at the time since I was dragged into the second section and endured extreme torture.

I spend days down there every waking moment was pure hell and the whole time I couldn't stop thinking about Theresa. One morning I was visited by the warden of the complex and he informed me that I will be executed next sunrise by crucifixion. He then left and three of men entered my cell and raped me. The fewer the details the better but to be honest I can't remember much only that I don't remember crying and I remember the sour taste of Colleitan Wine which if I drink today will cause me to remember details which I forbid such wine in my presence.

After they were done with me I lay there waiting for my death. Until a strange man in a black and purple outfit arrived with the warden. The two were arguing about me. It appears the Warden was showing this man some untrainable slaves to buy for a business partner as a gift. His business partner enjoys training slaves it seems. The warden didn't want to sell me but when the strange man offered 10 times what I could cost. I remember what the strange man answered when asked about the sheer amount his answer stuck with me, "I do not care for Denariis, Firians, or whatever you call your currency. People and their souls is all I care for."

He was looking at me when he was saying that and added in, "And you're going to be perfect for my plans."

An hour later I was turned over to him and we left. I begged him to buy my sister but he refused and put me on a ship that set sail to Romanorum. It would be years before I saw my sister again and years before I got my revenge on Flagellos. Even now I still don't know what to do with Acoz. Sure I executed alot of Flagellians there. Nobles and commoners. But I can't decide rather or not to tear it down or turn it into the most dreadful prison in Firedonia. Decisions, decisions.

My time in Romanorum though? Well that is for another entry."
It's only funny until someone gets hurt...then it's hilarious!
