They mentioned Base Delta Zero on the latest episode... So yeah, that is an aspect of the EU that has remained.

Also, I wanna try and calculate TIE firepower off of the previous episode.
You should come inside the box...

So some clones didn't go through with order 66, nice. Liked the little jab at the clone v storm troopers.
Vader's voice sounded a little weird though.

If you saw season 6 of the Clone Wars, Rex left the clone troopers to retire. He wasn't there for Order 66.
Gregor had this cliff hanger where he was fighting off against droids. People thought he sacrificed himself in-universe.
Don't know how Wolffe avoided Order 66 tho.

Vader seems fine to me. It's the same guy who did Vader back then.

Where is Thrawn from and why was is he so popular? I've heard about him but never seen anything with him in it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Admiral_Thrawn
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrawn_trilogy
In terms of why he was so popular, he was actually a well written character, and an actual villain that was memorable.
He's threatening because of his tactical prowess in a universe filled with superhuman mystical swordsman or superweapons.
He also decided to side with the empire despite knowing the huge discrimination towards non-humans.
He won battles and lost battles, but knows why he would win and lose.
And he is willing to accept help from his or ideas from his crew.
He was a three dimensional villain that was well liked and different from the villains before.
The novels were one of the reasons why Star Wars EU can be excellent at times.
It brought back interest in Star Wars.
