I saw the movie and loved it. It was so over the top with the violence and gore. There were also some really funny parts. I think that the controversy of the movie with it's graphic showing of slavery and excessive use of the term 'nigger'. Their portrayal of slavery was as a terrible mark on America's history. The use of the term 'nigger' was probably largely due to Historical Accuracy. Back in the period the movie takes place in, that is what black people were called. It wasn't a derogatory term, that is just what they were called. Not to do so would be to avoid the term because of it's current meaning in order to seem less vulgar or offensive, which is not something you would expect of Tarantino.

Yeah it was funny stuff, I would've liked a bigger-name actor in place of Jonah Hill's cameo though
