I'm wondering how the fuck whatever the antagonist is was able to shatter mjolnir.

Most likely it's either a rehash of Acts of Vengeance

Lets see... Magento, Dr Doom, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver... Thats a hell of a force already, and there are four sets of legs I don't recognise (Three obvious ones, and feet of what could very well be the silver surfer... unlikely, but would explain mjolnir's shattered state)
