Scaling Characters

Postby Mea quidem sententia » Fri Sep 23, 2016 2:13 pm

I am honestly interested in what everyone would be categorized under in terms of scaling from intellect to recovery. Below is imperfect, but still, let's have fun with it. I'll just start off with Samus Aran in her powered armor because why not? I didn't bother with Recovery for Samus because none match what she can do. Just copy and bold what you think a character's abilities fall under.

I'd be willing to give this a few goes later- but Strength needs looked at since it goes from lifting 100 tons to God-like. That's a fairly hefty jump.

Or you could go for Destructive Capability- a bit easier to work with instead of hard numbers- albeit I bet that's what you're aiming for.
The Factpile wiki has an example list if you'd like it.

To be fair, it says 100+ and it doesn't specify an upper limit. That could be anything.

I would do Iron Man (Tony Stark), but the endurance (I would assume for the suit) for Iron Man is kinda dependent on how much power he has in his suit and constant fighting would drain it faster than normal. I can't get an accurate measure on that.

This looks like physical stuff. Some characters in fictions have spiritual, mental, or some kind of abnormal abilities.

Ok, no prizes for who i will do;

Kain

Spoiler
Intelligence
The ability to process information.

Super Genius: Possessing genius in multiple intellectual areas.
Omniscient: Possessing genius in all intellectual areas.

Around those two.

Strength
The ability to lift weight over one’s head.

Superhuman Class 7: Can lift 100+ ton range.

Land Speed
The ability to run across land in a certain period of time.

Speed of Sound: 768 mi/h (Mach 1)

Flight Speed
The ability to fly through the air in a certain period of time.

N/A

Water Speed
The ability to swim through water in a certain period of time.

N/A

Reflex
The ability to involuntarily react within a certain amount of time due to stimulus.

Infinite

Durability
The ability to withstand bodily injury.

God-like: Able to physically withstand almost any force without injury.

You would be hard pressed to hurt him.

Endurance
The ability to sustain peak exertion before fatigue impairs performance.

Superhuman: Able to sustain for up to a day.

This one was tricky, mainly because I am not sure if LoK vamps tire like normal organisms would. Kain was either out of breath or just badly injured after his Raziel fight which may suggest a limit to exertion but most things Kain does appear casual so its hard to say.

Recovery
The ability to recover from injury and/or ailment.

Metahuman: Able to regenerate injured or missing tissue, limbs, organs, or brain cells.
God-like: Able to regenerate the body after having most or all of the bodily tissue destroyed.

Around those two, due to immortality and regen.

That's what I mean though- you go from 100+ tons straight to "God" level. 100 tons would be maybe an equivalent to city block at the very best- which would still leave everything above it as 100+ until you reach "God" level.
Which is why I thought it would be better to go for DC since technically strength isn't so important as how much you can destroy. Roy Mustang physically can't kick down a wall- with his alchemy- he can blast a building apart.
