What does 3,030.3 mean? Is that m/s?

If he can swing his sword once every 0.000330 seconds, he can swing his sword 3030.3 times a second according to Wolfram Mathematica.

Are you saying via your math that Dante "has" swung his sword in such a way or that based on other factors he "could" physically move this fast?

There are other factors like whether or not the stress of doing this would damage Dante himself, hes not the most durable of characters. not quite a glass cannon but maybe a squishy one. I don't recall Dante actually moving his sword that fast, not even enough build up much heat other than in two locations, when he shot it while going down the tower or when he scrapes it together with Vergils.

Which would then mean for a minute he could swing his sword 181,818 times, given he doesn't tire out, of course. Impressive. I'm actually glad the calculation is being done this way because I know often times people will try to look for a Mach number. If we looked for how fast someone could punch, for example, we'd focus only on how many punches someone delivered in 1 minute. So, yeah.

I don't think that's is what's being said.

It's more of an easy way to scale the feat, by translating one swing every .000330 seconds into 3000+ in one second, it's an easier feat to understand. Whether or not he has the durability or not, I'm not sure (I think his healing factor would keep him going for that, and he has at least the Thousand Stabs and the part during Mission 8's opening to say he can swing his blade incredibly fast either way), but it's less an attempt at saying he could, more an attempt at translating his swinging a sword speed.

Aelfinn got the calc from his use of physics and biology, translating his strength feat of blocking the savior into a possible speed calc. For the purposes of this feat I merely acted as the person who moved this to the respect thread. You can ask Aelfinn on the "Dante vs Itachi" thread for more specifics. Sorry I'm not much use here.

Ill look at the math but it looks like an unlikely extrapolation since we know from all of Dantes fights that unless hes holding back massively in every one, he cant swing his sword that quickly. You would have to simply assume since DMC 4 dante does not have many if any serious fights maybe that's why we don't see him attack so quickly.

And thousand stabs (wasnt it million stab?) is just the name of a move, whether he literally does 1000 stabs is questionable, the in-game animation looks like he does half a dozen if I recall. Cant recall Mission 8's opening though.

I am wary of most DMC calcs because there's a lot of nonsense revolving around some of his capabilities and calcs can get ridiculous. Feats like temigaru tower for example are argued all the time. Saviour and how impressive it really was is another one.

Edit;

Didn't Aeflinn say his time was wasted and he messed up the math? That the sword wouldn't be moving at even mach 1?

That seems to be what he was saying, but you'd have to ask him. Even then, how do you get Mach anything out of how fast you can swing a sword?

Not sure, I would rather just go by how fast Dante has ever moved his sword based on quantities of speed he has shown before, like when fighting vergil, or when he blocks bullets so easily. I cant imagine him actually being able to swing his sword many times per second before his arms get tired anyway, let alone 3k times, which is crazy.

I finally calc'd that vergil feat no one ever wanted to do because it would be such a pain in the ass to figure out. it came out mach 29 but im gonna double check my math a few times then post the results either tonight or tomorrow. if i got it right and its mach 29 i think that is the fastest combat feat in the dmc universe so yayyyyyyyy
EDIT: actually i fudged the results a little its closer to mach 27 but still. i'l post it once i can figure out where i left the paper i wrote everything down on.

finally calc'd this god damn impossible feat lol
so it takes vergil 3 seconds to clear most of the space with a time manipulation of 558x slower
it wasn't possible to find the actual length of this field in this cutscene so i used a few different ones
first i used the cutscene where lady and dante are in the same field lady measured from the top of her bayonet to the bottom of her boot 51 pixels and the length of the visible field measures 340 pixels. the top of her bayonet is slightly taller than dante who is around 6ft tall in this game aka two yards. so 340/51x2= 13.33 yards
however this still isn't enough because leviathan just landed on the majority of the field covering it so i had to figure out leviathans size. so i i found a cutscene where he eats dante and measured dantes length (2 yards) compared to leviathan. i got 35 pixels for dante and 790 for leviathan (at the point where he is closest to leviathan and you can actually see his entire face in the shot) so 790/35x2=45.14yards. meaning 45.14+13.33 equals 58.47. (rounded to 58.5 to make my life easier)- the 3 yards he didn't travel. equals 55.5
accounting for slow mo we get a speed of 30969 yards in three seconds or 30969 feet per second AKA mach 27.76
the math for this wasn't hard but you had to be a god damn devil may cry detective to find the solid numbers lol
