Vampire Hunter D

D is a dhampir, half vampire, half man who travelling around The Frontier in search of the Nobility. In almost every book it is noted that D has superior strength, skills and knowledge in comparison to other dhampirs. It his hinted that this is because he has some special connection to the Sacred Ancestor (it is generally regarded that D is his son, although this has never been explicitly stated) and that he is the result of experiments carried out on him by the Sacred Ancestor.
Looks
D is often described as being very beautiful, so much that even men find him gorgeous. In the first book he is described as wearing a wide brimmed traveler's hat, a faded black long coat, wearing a blue pendant and a combat utility belt. It's also noted that he carries a curved longsword strapped on his back. He's described as being a youth between 17-18 years with a a powerful frame and a low voice. He has thick masculine eyebrows, a smooth bridge of a nose and long, thin and cold eyes that are quite clear. His lips were also described as being tightly drawn and his hair color is black.
Some other things
Although D’s age is never stated, he is known to be at least 5,000 thousand years old, as when escorting Byron Balazs, the group arrive at an ancient Noble Air terminal, and the facility A.I. says that it was told of D by the Sacred Ancestor when he visited 5 millennia ago.
-
Realiy Altering Powers: D has either acquired new time/ space powers in the latest novels, or has just now been given a chance to use them. D can destroy wormholes with his sword, and create dimensional rifts with a cut, while in space and his lungs bursting from lack of oxygen. He can cut through the very fount of life, as well as the essence of death itself, as proven in his fight against the agents of paradise and the Death Knights. These reality warping powers stem from the fact that D Is unbound by fate/probability. In the latest novel, he was able to override the Akashic records, which contains the entire past, present, and future of the entire universe. Basically, D can warp reality around himself and his sword
-
D can negate regeneration.
-
Left Hand
D's constant companion is his talking left hand, sometimes reffered to as the Countenanced Carbuncle. It is revealed that this is some sort of symbiotic entity which has taken up residence in D's hand, although why he has done so is not clear. The hand (or 'Lefty' as fans have affectionately termed him) appears to have supernatural powers independant from his host, and occassionally uses them to help D. More often than not, however, Lefty generally prefers sitting back and letting D do the work, usually throwing in a sarcastic comment or two at D's expense
-
Weaknessess
Heat Exhaustion - Long period will weaken D greatly. (It seems like a stroke-like state.)
-
Burial - D buries himself to regain his strength from his heat exhaustion. He digs into the ground and lays with only his head exposed. He is vulnerable to attacks during this time.

D fights a woman

The youth remained motionless atop his mount. He didn’t reach for his sword or for his combat belt. What’s more, when the girl saw how nonchalant he remained when challenged to battle by a good-looking young lady who gave no reasons but showered him with a murderous gaze, a tinge of consternation rushed into her expression. Letting out a rasp of breath, the girl struck with her whip. The weapon was made from intertwined werewolf bristles painstakingly tanned over three long months with applications of animal fat. A direct hit from it would sunder flesh.

“What the?…”

The girl leapt back, her expression changed. Her whip was supposed to strike the youth’s left shoulder but for some reason, just at the instant she saw hit him, the whip changed direction and shot instead for her own left shoulder. The youth had reversed the vectors without the slightest injury to himself and turned it back upon its source. To grasp the speed and angle of that black snake striking so fast it escaped the naked eye and have the reflexes to do something about it, was something that defied description.

-
“Clad in not a single stitch, a naked form so celestial none save the goddess Venus herself could have fashioned it glittered in the breeze. At the same time, the girl extended her other hand and undid her ponytail. Her luxurious raven mane splayed in the wind. Her nakedness alone had been beautiful, but this was truly enchanting. The wind twisted around, bearing nothing but the scent of a women in the full of her bloom.

“Let’s try that again!”

Once more her whip cracked. Through some masterful handling, the single tip whistling toward the youth split into eight parts just as it was about to strike. Each tip had a separate target, coiling around his neck, shoulders, arms, and chest with slightly different timing, making a hit much more difficult to avoid than if all struck simultaneously.

“You sure fell for that one,” the girl laughed. “That’s what you get for letting a little nudity distract you.” She hollered the words, conceding nothing to the snarling wind. And then, almost disappointed, she suddenly added, “You’re the ninth. Looks like I;m out of luck after all. How do you wanna play this? You drop the weapon you’ve got on your back and the ones around your waist and I’ll have you undone in no time.”

The reply she received was totally unexpected. “And if I wouldn’t?”

The girl bacame indignant. “Ten you get your choice of how I knock you out. Either I strangle you or I drag you to the ground. So, which of those suits your fancy?”

“Neither appeals to me.”

With his words as her signal to start, the girl concentrated all her might into her right hand. Her power coursed down the whip to the tips, trying to send the youth sailing through the air. But it didn’t! In fact, all eight loops passed right through the youth’s body without losing their circular form!
-
“What the–?”
-

Not merely surprised but dumbfounded, the girl stood rooted and dazed. After all, here was an opponent who had beaten an attack that incorporated every bit of skill she possessed without so much as lifting a hand…The youth’s mount started to walk away calmly.”

-
D stops healing
“Worse yet, the werewolf’s wound wouldn’t close! That wouldn’t be so unusual when it was human, but once it assumed the beastly form, the cells of a werewolf’s flesh were like single-cell organisms, giving it the regenerative power of a hydra. Cells created more cells, closing wounds instantly. But the blade the werewolf had just tasted made regeneration impossible, though it was probably not due to the blade but rather the skill of the youth who wielded it.

Skin and muscle tissue that could reject bullets weren’t showing any signs of regenerating!”

-
D Slices cloud to ground lightning
Vampire Hunter D Vol.4 “Tale of the Dead Town”
“Bowing and excusing himself, the physician did an about face. Just above him, there was a flash of silvery light. A bolt of lightning that was about to strike his head was split in half, and the fragments twitched on the ground. Completely oblivious to what had happened, Dr. Tsurugi raced off.”

-
D gets slammed into the ground at FTL speed
“““We’re passing the speed of light!” A hoarse voice called from the left hand D extended. “And we’ve got no wind. Brace for impact!” A tiny mouth formed on the palm of his hand. In it appeared a howling blue flame. Space twisted as the tiny mouth inhaled. The left hand vanished. At the same time, D felt a violent impact.” Pg 182 Vampire Hunter D: Volume 16 Tyrant’s Star part 3″

-
D cuts a spear which with stood the pressure of a black hole
““The swipe D made with his blade in midair was fearsome; a heartbeat later, the spears apparently metal shaft had been severed a foot and a half from the end and was sailing through the air. D’s left hand rose, and a black glint screamed through the air to pierce the base of the giant’s throat with unerring accuracy.”-Vampire Hunter D Volume 16 part 1 pg 14.”

-
D takes EXTREME heat
“The Hunter reached into the hole in the wall, and, grabbing a fistful of cables, he pulled down. From his shoulder to his wrist, pale blue electromagnetic waves clung to him like a spider’s web, and white smoke rose from his body. His face didn’t show the slightest hint of pain. His right hand went into action, pulling out the ends of the severed cords. Electromagnetic waves covered D entirely…Perhaps it was the first time this young man had worn a color other than black. Using his body as a conductor, energy suddenly shot from the reactor to the barrier projector. Richly colored blossoms opened. Flames that cold get as hot as fifty million degrees and a lethal dose of electromagnetic waves and radiation churned.” Vampire Hunter D: Tale Of The Dead Town pg 127″

-
D's aura/beauty in action
“The arm that was about to spray them with white hot death, however turned in the opposite direction along with the rest of its body. In the shadow of a building some fifty feet away there suddenly stood a figure in black so beautiful and tragic it numbed even the electronic brain of this machine. That was the reason why it delayed a tenth of a second aligning the sights of the thermal-ray cannon.” Vampire Hunter D Volume 4 pg 136

-
D vs Light pulled directly from the sun
“D became a black shooting star flying through the air. The sun ray beam that shot through the space he just occupied an instant earlier continued past him. With nothing to strike, it scored direct hit to the carriage parked to one side of the square. “That’s not good!” someone cried out. Startled by the flying sparks and energy discharge the team of horses whinnied especially loudly and bolted for the exit on the far side of the square. “Close the back gate!” A few villagers ran off in response to the old man’s shouts but an instant later a beam intercepted them, and they fell forward with their heads blown off. Nobody could tell where the beams were coming from. The square had become a place where bolts and light flitted madly, and, as fleeing villagers vanished in the flashes, the origin of the murderous beams still seemed impossible to determine. However, the one clear image that greeted anyone who looked back was the enraptured expression of the angelic young man as he stood by the entrance of the square watching the mad dance of the lights. It was inspiring how his face brimmed with joie de vivre as he gleefully toyed with the deadly rays. All at once, the square reclaimed its original hue. Perhaps it was an aftereffect of the powerful white flashes, but the green trees and brown houses burned themselves into the scene in almost painfully deep tones before gradually returning to their natural color. Villagers creeping to the edge of the square-or some cases crouched on the ground watching where this supernatural phenomena was headed-saw a pair of figures square off with some thirty feet between them. One was a young man wearing an angelic smile, the other was a hunter as beautiful as the moon’s corona. Which would prove the faster, the racing figure in black or the coursing stream of white light? Everyone gasped as D fended off one white-hot attack but two more streaks pierce his body as he dashed forward. But what did the villagers really see and gasp about? D held his left hand out in front of his chest. The two bolts of light changed directions right before him, and became a single flash,, and were sucked into the palm of the hand. The young man didn’t move. His smile still brimmed with pleasure. D’s flashing blade flowed from the tip of his foes head down to his lower jaw.”-pg 93-94 Vampire Hunter D Demon Deathchase

-
D's Left Hand in action
“”Suddenly there was a powerful gust of wind. Waves began to build and break on the sea that lay in defense of Egbert, and in the blink of an eye, the vast body of water became a thin layer of liquid suspended in the air. All the wind was blowing towards a single point. Towards D–and his left hand. And what a powerful gale it was. But it didn’t blow the soldiers through the air. Before it could, the tendrils of wind and already ripped away the flesh and blood that formed their bodies. Necks twisted, arms snapped, and the torsos they’d been joined to broke apart in midair, before they were sucked into D’s right hand.”-Vampire Hunter D Volume 7 pg129

-
So we see here that D’s Left Hand sucked with enough force to lift a portion of an ocean out off the ground and ripped the flesh and blood from the bones of mutant soldiers and tore them apart before sucking them into his Left Hand. Also note that his opponent in this case is a character named King Egbert who had the power to divine an area and make himself completely king in that specific space. Everything that area is under his control including gravity. Didn’t help him much obviously. It didn’t just skin them it tore them apart and shattered their bones. Mind you these were dolls made into flesh and blood by a magician in full body armor. And D’s arm was broken at the time due to Egbert increasing his strength via manipulating gravity and decreasing D’s speed using the same method.

D slicing ability

“Though built from a steel-like plating only a fraction of an inch thick, the Shelters could withstand a direct hit from a small nuclear device, and there were a vast array of defensive mechanisms armed and ready to dispose of any insects who might be buzzing around with stakes and hammers in hand.
But what made these Shelters perfect, more than anything else, was one simple fact—
“There’s no entrance?” D muttered from atop his horse.
Exactly. The jet-black walls that reflected the white radiance of the sun didn’t have so much as a hair-sized crack.
Looking up at the heavens, D started silently down the hill. “The pleasant vernal temperature aside, the sunlight that ruthlessly scorched him was unparalleled agony for a dhampir like D. Dhampirs alone could battle with the Nobility on equal terms by night, but to earn the title of Vampire Hunter, they needed the strength to remain impassive in the blistering hell of the day.
As D drew closer, it seemed the surrounding air bore an almost imperceptible groaning, but that soon scattered in the sunlight.
At D’s breast, his pendant glowed ever bluer. It was a mysterious hue that rendered all of the Nobility’s electronic armaments inoperable.”
-
“Dismounting in front of the sheer, black wall, D put his left hand to the steel. A chilling sensation spread through him. The temperature was probably unique to this special steel. Perhaps it was because, to render the exterior of this structure impervious to all forms of heat or electronic waves, molecules served as atoms in it.
D’s hand glided slowly across the smooth surface.
Finishing the front wall, he moved to the right side. It took thirty minutes to run his hand over that side. “Sheesh,” said a bored voice coming from the space between the steel and the palm of his hand. The voice let a sigh escape as D moved to the back wall. If there’d been anyone there to hear it, this bizarre little scene would’ve undoubtedly made the eyes bug out of their head, but D continued his work in silence.
“Yep, this metal sure is tough stuff. The situation inside is kind of hazy. Still, I’m getting a picture of the general setup. The superatomic furnace inside is sending energy into the metal itself. You can’t break through the walls without destroying the atomic furnace, but in order to do that you’d have to bust through the walls first. So, which came first, the chicken or the egg?”
-
“How many are inside?” D asked, still brushing his hand along the wall.
“Two,” came the quick reply. “A man and a woman. But even I can’t tell whether they’re Nobility or human.”
Without so much as a nod, D finished scanning the third wall.
Only the left side remained.
But what in the world was he doing? Judging from what the voice said, he seemed to be searching the interior of the Shelter, but, if the outer walls couldn’t be breached, that was pointless. On the other hand, the voice explained that destroying the outer walls would be impossible.
About halfway down the steel wall, the left hand halted.
“Got it,” the voice said disinterestedly. “D wasted no time going into action. Without taking his left hand away, he stepped back, reaching with his right for his sword. The blade seemed to drink up the sunlight.
Drawing his sword-wielding right arm far back, D focused his eyes on a single point on the wall. A spot right between the thumb and forefinger of his left hand.
But what had they got there? The instant an awesome white bloodlust coalesced between the naked sword tip and the steel—
A pale light pierced the black wall.
It was D’s sword that streamed forth. Regardless of how trenchant that thrust might be, there was no way it could penetrate the special steel of the outer walls. Be that as it may, the graceful arc sank halfway into the unyielding metal wall. “That’s where the entrance was. D’s blade was wedged in the boundary between door and wall, though that line was imperceptible to the naked eye. With the mysterious power of his left hand D had located it, then thrust into it. Granted that there was a space there, how could the tip of his sword slip into an infinitesimal gap?
[skipping some stuff]
-
“The muscles of the hand he wrapped around the hilt bulged slowly. It’s unclear what kind of exquisite skill was at work, but the slightest twist of the horizontal blade sent a sharp, thin line racing across the steel surface. “Blue light oozed out”

D's aura effecting machinery
“Compressors whined within the giant crab’s launchers, and steam billowed from the vents on either side of the creature. It came at him again. But suddenly, the giant crab grew scared. Although it was a machine and didn’t move an inch, Su-In could tell from behind the big tree it was frightened. Every fiber of the woman was eerily chilled, and her eyes were drawn to D. What had struck fear into the soulless machine emanated from every inch of him. The trickle of blood from his forehead vanished at the end of his lips. His eyes were ablaze, burning with the color of a vampires gaze. The next sight left Su-In wondering if this was the work of a dream demon running amuck in a world where time had stopped. D kicked off the stone steps. Unlike his earlier leap, this time the hem of his coat opened like the ominous wings of some mythic bird as he soared through the air. As the shadowy figure came down again, there was a flash of white light from him on the way. Soft as the flash was, it had an incredible weight to it, and even after it had sliced deep into the dome on the giant crab’s carapace , the enemies weapons did not go into action. The slice went halfway the slice went halfway though the carapace, the enemies weapons still did not go into action. The slice went halfway though the shell. Sparks shot out through the gaping wound, and the giant crab disgorged blood that looked like glistening oil.”-Vampire Hunter D Vol 7 pg150

-
D vs Armored Men
“No sooner had D pushed the girl away he was swallowed by a wave of orange armor. Nan’s eyes were open as wide as they can go and she didn’t catch what happened. Didn’t all three Vigilance Committee members just sail through the air and slam against the floor with an enormous crash? Weren’t they supposed to have their speed and strength multiplied by 500 in that armor? If by some chance there’d have been a super-high-speed camera there to film the scene, it would have caught D as he slipped between the jumbled forms of the trio and twisted their wrists behind their backs with secret skill. The wrist and shoulder joints every last one of the men were shattered beyond repair.”-Vampire Hunter D Vol 5 pg 31-32

-
D vs Caroline
“”Wait, just wait.” Caroline waved her hands and lept back a few yards. So, this youth gave no consideration to knowledge that might give him the advantage in battle? I’m going to die, aren’t I? Caroline thought. Here, on this mans sword…Caroline gazed absentmindedly at the youth in black raiment approaching her. A strange feeling welled up in her breast. I want to be slain. I want to feel this gorgeous man stab my bosom. The ecstasy of death enveloped Caroline in its rapture.”-Vampire Hunter D Vol 4 pg 121

-
D vs The Demons From The Manga
“When their lips met his, the sisters saw it. They saw the crimson blood-light glinting from D’s eyes. It dealt a serious blow to their wicked minds. In that instant, the three sisters felt a sweet thrill the like they never felt before. “Oh those lips,” the oldest sister said in a husky voice. “Show me your throats,” a low, rusty voice commanded. Without time to comprehend it was D’s voice they heard, the sisters raised their neckd as one and brought the slick white base of their throats to D’s lips. Something told them there was no other way to snuff the feverish excitement gnawing its way through their bodies. The Midwich Madusas’ minds were no longer functioning properly. “Undo you’re hair.” D’s limbs were immediately free. His right hand returned the sword to his sheeth while his hand scooped a fistful of hair. “A trap baited with pleasure but who caught whom?” Before his muttered words faded, D dropped the strands he held and pulled the three necks to himself with both arms. “I don’t normally like to do this, but its the only way out of here. Someone’s waiting for me.” As he spoke, his eyebrows suddenly rose and his eyes rolled back. His lips spread wide exposing a pair of fangs. Brutal and evil, his visage was that of a vampire. There in the darkness, what happened in the moments that followed? The cries of the women melded with the repeated splash of their tail beating the water’s surface, suggesting some unearthly delights had just taken mastery of them. It was the sisters who blundered into the pleasure trap. In seconds there was the sound of something heavy dropping into the water three times in succession, and then D quickly gave the command. “Arise.”.-Vampire Hunter D Vol 1 pg89-90

-
Some more VHD Tech
“Congratulations on surviving my ttrap” an austee male voice said. But it must’ve been hard on you.” D was standing in huge dome crafted from Zeramium steel. The voice that issued from the tower loomed before him. “my name is Sigma. I’m an antiproton computer.”-Vampire Hunter D Volume 16 pg 182

-
D's Time Immunity
“It was a odd piece of geography. A mile and a quarter in diameter at the base and roughly sixty or so feat high, it looked like any ordinary hill from both the ground and the air. Those who set foot on its slopes with an aim to reach the summit would find that it took several hours to do so no matter how great they were at hiking. Black ruins rose from the summit of the hill. That’s where the men were headed. However, that simple goal, glowering down at the surrounding landscape from a scant altitude of sixty feat, was not unlike the mirages that were said to occur in the Frontier’s desert regions-it taunted these men as they tried to reach it, and would do the same to anyone else who excepted the challenge. The distance never decreased. Their feet clearly trod the slope, and their bodies told them they were steadily gaining elevation. And yet, the further the reaches of the incline and the ruins they sought never got any closer. Taking the accounts of all who’d experienced the phenomenon into consideration, it was estimated to take a man in prime condition thirty minutes to climb three feet .And just how did you know that. Come to think of it, when did you get here, anyway? Could it be you can walk up the hill like normal could it?”Vampire Hunter D: Raiser of The Gales pg 13.” Vampire Huner: D Raiser of The Gails pg 3-4

A list of the VHD books for those interested and brief description of each book:
-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Va ... r_D_novels
-
An unfinished quote
"He cut through not only flesh and bone, but through the fount of life. No one, god or demon, can help you now."
Vampire Hunter D volume 7
-
explanation of what happend
"He cut through not only flesh and bone, but through the fount of life. No one, god or demon, can help you now."
This was said from an amalgamated clone of D, Valcua, and the Sacred Ancestor to Valcua, who had been cut by D. This is a guy who could survive being beheaded by merely pressing his head back down, healing the cut near instantly. He only managed to recover after fusing with the clone of the Sacred Ancestor, who had the power to rewrite fate itself.

-
Other things
Cut through zeramium steel, which would take a laser hours to cut through a fraction of an inch.

-Cut through a staff that could shatter diamond hard rocks like clay and had a steel alloy core that could deflect lasers.

-Beheaded a three headed dog covered in a steel alloy capable of withstanding a direct hit from a small nuclear device.

-Managed to cut a material that withstood at least 500 million tons of pressure from a spear point without a scratch.

-Can cut down incorporeal beings with no true form, shadows, beings made of water, fire, beings made of light/radiation, beings made of pure energy, wormholes, lightning, spirits, and more

-
Pretty sure the portal faces one direction. Valcua opened it up between him and D, and only D was sucked in by the intense vacuum (which would have eventually sucked in the entire atmosphere if left open). Later, D opens one of his own in the vacuum of space to get back to Earth and escapes through it. So it can be opened facing the direction that one chooses.

-
His abilities are well beyond human so here's a list of his feats:

-D's sword skills are beyond extreme. His sword is plain steel, but he can cut through alloys that can tank small nukes, steel that can reflect VHD verse lasers (a basic laser being able to instantly turn rock into molten lava), material that can take 500 million+ tons of pressure from a spear point, etc. And that's just his cutting power against solids.

He can also cut elements (fire, water, lightning, light/radiation), intangibles (spirits, shadows, holograms, astral/mental projections, beings made out of pure energy).

He can also cut rifts into space-time/dimenions to connect specific points, and destroy wormholes with his sword.

-D can negate regeneration with his sword skills alone. Werewolves whose regen can repel bullets, and the Nobility, whose regen is leagues above that of a werewolf can't heal the cuts he makes without taking extreme measures. And even then it's sometimes impossible. This because D doesn't just cut flesh or spirit, he cuts the very fount of life in his opponents.

-Long distance speed is rather low, maybe 100 mph tops. Short distance movement is much higher, at least supersonic.

-It's said he can cut down a laser. He cut down a cloud to ground lightning bolt just before it hit its target in one of the novels. His swordplay is definitely hypersonic+.

-He throws wooden needles so fast that they ignite and burn white from the air friction.

-Left Hand is just insane. It can absorb just about anything, including: 100 billion volt pillars of lightning, 100 million degree particle beams that can punch through planets 2-3x Earth's size, energy straight from the heart of an anti-matter reactor or a small nuke, hurricane force winds, 50 ton air bullets, an army of clay soldiers, and more.

LH can also use D's blood to destroy dreams, and harm Death Knights, beings composed of the essence of death itself.

LH has also had experience fighting against powerful demons that use quantum manipulation, and who fuse with vampires to multiply their strength.

He broke it in The Rose Princess fighting one of the knights, who were clad in super-science material armor. He later used some of that same material to have a new sword forged in the meantime he started carrying around a bunch of normal swords he picked up in town, since he knew he would break them fighting the knights, just as he broke his old sword (and he did). In all cases, he was able to pierce the armor, but the blade snapped before he could fatally wound the man inside (and they could shrug off wounds that would kill a normal human) He broke his sword again fighting Lord Vlad (who has armored skin), and bought a replacement one in town off the rack. He was able to slice off Vlad's mechanical replacement arm with no trouble. He broke his sword a 3rd time when he fought an energy monster. It melted his blade and burns a lot of his flesh off, though D quickly recovered from his injuries, and picked up a new outfit and sword at the facility's armory (it was where he was born as part of Dracula's experiments). Other than the one sword who's composition was specifically pointed out, they were all normal steel. Super-science materials are rare out on the frontier, and the vampires who survive his blows are horrified that he is able to do such damage strictly with skill, rather than an exotic sword.

Also, as for D's durability, he's survived being thrown headfirst into a rock wall by a blast that destroyed hundreds of tons of rock. He's not especially resistant to piercing attacks though, but unless his left hand is starving, he can fight even after having his heart pierced. And if his heart isn't damaged, his left hand can be starving and he'll still fight at top level with shredded lungs and other serious injuries.

Anything on planetary or cosmic level is too much in a straight up fight, obviously.

I'm not really sure where to place D either. His speed is high, his physical durability mid, mental resistance is city+, his strength about class 50, his left hand, cutting power, and cutting skill is phenomenal for a seemingly street level fighter, and he's immune to fate manipulation and can alter the Akashic records to rewrite reality/history on a planetary+ level if given access to aether. He's also the most controlled fighter in existence emotion-wise, and he even took on Cthulhu in the latest novel.

D is faster (relativistic/high hypersonic), stronger (cut through anything including space time itself, and stop regeneration), and more durable (survived absolute zero, magma, 100 billion volts of electricity, etc.) than Alucard so that may not go so well. Post-shrodinger maybe a better fight and that probably won't be a stomp for Alucard seeing as how D actually has killed quantum beings.

In the novels D can pull of some really insane stuff. He's fast enough to draw his sword and chop down a stake that was fired at him from 10 feet away from a stake gun that has a muzzle velocity of 300 feet per second.

He also sliced through this one guy's support frame (the guy had a body similar to Jabba The Hutt's) seemingly without effort when the frame itself was described as nigh invulnerable, and a military-grade laser would require over an hour to bore through it.

He is extremely resistant to electrical damage (he used his body to complete a circuit so that a floating city's shield could be raised in order to keep three nuclear missiles from hitting them). Having a few million volts pass through him didn't really slow him down. He also had a firebomb go off near him that produced 100,000 degree flames and he was able to survive that between the fireproofing material in his coat, and Left Hand's ability to eat fire.

Finally, things that he slices tend to die, even if they really shouldn't, like cutting through a hologram and leaving it unable to reform itself. Even things that should regenerate quickly have trouble against him. The vampire Vlad Balazs had his arm chopped off and his head split open before retreating. Normally the head wound should have closed immediately, and the arm repaired simply by holding the severed limb up to the stump (Other vampires in including D have demonstrated this level of regeneration before) but he needed to have the wound stitched closed and a cybernetic arm built to replace his missing one. The only reason why he wasn't simply split in half was because he had his skin replaced with a metallic armor (kinda like Link's hand from Bloodlust) that was supposedly invulnerable to blades.

D himself is over 5000 years old. The computer that ran one of the Noble's airports fell in love with Dracula when he visited there over 5000 years ago and learned about D from the copy it made of him (it just wanted to spend the rest of eternity with her new love, you see).
