Debating with myself on whether or not to write a little something, something. I'll come back if I get to that point.

Comments and criticism are gladly accepted.

At a point, all good things come to an end.
And for Sarah, it seemed like it was coming to that point.
Today was a fine day, not a cloud in the sky breaking up the beautiful blue it radiated. The Sun giving off a sweltering heat on the poor people of the village, but a breezy north wind gave a cool relief to the inhabitants. The stunning winter mountains were clear, viewable from anywhere in the village should they care to look into the horizon. The nearby lake glistened like silver, and people washed their various items and bodyparts in the refreashing waters. It was a perfect day to be outside, to breath in the fresh air.
Contrary to what Sarah's day was going to end up as.
"Let me go!" She cried aloud for help as a pair of men bound her up tightly in rope like a wild beast of the plains. No one listened to her, not even those in the nearby houses shaking out their rugs and talking to one another in hushed tones that betrayed their cheery additude's. Sarah felt her golden locks grabbed roughly, and one of the men hissed under his breath.
"Stay quiet. you know the procedure's, you shouldn't be surprised."
It was true, Sarah did know the procedure's. The Village had the unfortunate event of having a monsterous beast make nest up in the winter mountains. The people were so frightened of the thing, that they would offer up their own kin to keep the village and its remaining people safe. They couldn't move, this plot of land had the most fertile soils for score's of mile's, and they had settled in too deeply. There were four generations alone currently residing in the village, and they dared not anger the beast by sending up people to eradicate it. Risking the whole village of people in the small chance they had in defeating it the winged creature. Legends preached about the monster told of it swallowing whole cities in its rage. razing lands of all living things as it passed by, and its roar could shake the mountains down to rubble.
So their only option was too sate the monsters hate and ravenous hunger, twice a year they held a drawing of sorts with the names of every younger female in the village (As the legends told that the creature prefered the soft, delicate taste of a maiden) and would draw out a name by random. The person whose name was drawn was then dragged up to the wintery mountains and thrown into the creatures cavern and left to be eaten.
Sarah had always thought she was safe from the drawings, it hadn't gotten anyone she had known in the village and she felt almost invincible at the time. Having always said to herself "that wont be me going up there!"
Ironic now that she was being forced up to be devoured by the beast.
"Please no!" she cried, tears streaming down her pale face as she struggled as hard as she could against he bonds but to no avail. succeeding in burning her wrists and ankles rather than loosening her bonds. "Please, please there must be some other way!"
"Sorry..." The other man said softly with little sympathy, shutting her up by gagging her with a cloth tied around her head. Both taking ahold of her and lifting her onto a cart to be transported to the winter mountains. Sarah, a girl no more than sixteen, was being taken to her death. She wildly looked about to the villagers and people on the way through town. begging and pleading for someone to stop the cart and save her from impending doom. But many did not make eye contact, or even acknowledge she existed. Passing by as if she were a ghost, not existing in sight.
Even mother, who had at least been crying ever since the drawings had picked Sarah as this years sacrifice, didn't make a move to stop the cart as they passed through the gates. Sarah trying to call out to her but muffled and incomprehensible.
The Trio exited the village and Sarah felt her heart sink to new lows.
No one cared for her... No one saved her...
and now she was going to die.
Alone.
The wheels of the cart creaked ominously, and the clip-clop of the horse pulling the cart echoed in the walls of her mind. sheaperding her ever closer to the spot reserved for her in the underworld.

The first part... Just decided to one shot this piece of the story and let it carry me wherever it went.

the second part of the last piece. dunno how many parts it'll be.

it seemed like years for the groaning cart to reach it's destination. the halo of angels light in the sky had dipped down from its proud placement high in the sky, allowing her sister to peek across the horizon as if to check to see it was safe. All the while the musty stench of the working mare, chained to this cart as Sarah was in her bonds, annoied the young girls senses. She struggled continuously, pulling, twisting, wrenching her hands and feet to try. but like every other time before, the ropes only bloodied her wrists from wearing away the skin. every now and then a muffled cry for attention to her two handlers would escape her red lips, but to no prevail.
She rested herself in the back of the rotting old wagon, dust kicked up forming a dark sheen on her long white dress. The winds up here on the mountainside were getting worse, and the two men chatted in low tones about how there may be a storm brewing up in the eastern skys. The wind tossed the girls golden hair all about, tickling and batting her nose and face.
The Mare gave off a whinny, and the larger, tanned man tried to soothe her by patting her flank. but the horse reared back, kicking at an invisible foe with a cry. the wagon lurching with her and causing Sarah and the pale, blonde haired man to be tossed into the snow covered road.
"OOMPH..." the blondie puffed as he hit the ground, slowly raising himself up.
"Xavier, what's with Arahla?" he asked, scratching his head in confusion.
"she jus' spooked 's all" The tanned man, called 'Xavier' apparently, stated with the heavy slur of his accent. He jumped off, approaching Arahla slowly, with hands outstretched to slowly stroke the mares fur and to protect his face from a kick. he hushed the horse like a rowdy child at church, sweet talking to her to try and bring her down.
"we must be close... we need to get back before that storm hits. Sarah?" the blond man stated, but when he turned to look he could see Sarah trying to roll away from her captors. she didn't know what she would do all bound up like this, but she didn't want to become food for some Winged Otherworld Demon or whatever it was.
"Sarah wait!" he cried out, quickly scrambling to his feet and chasing after the escaping girl.
it was a short lived chase.
She was plucked of the ground struggling all the way, the man grunting as he hauled the girl into the back of the wagon. Sarah was crying again, the wet tears on her cheek were freezing in the high winds.
"Dammit Sarah..." he sighed softly, and looked down at the ground in shame. he wasnt proud of this, not at all... and Sarah pleaded him with her sparkling blue eyes.
"Sarah, your saving our village! why... why cant you just accept that!" he whispered almost harshly, and Sarah froze as the rain on the mountain did.

they had to carry and walk her the rest of the way, untying the bonds on her ankles so she could trail ahead of them but within arms reached. Unable to escape with Xavier holding onto an extension of her bonds like a leash. Arahla and the wagon had been tied up at a rock so she wouldn't run off.
Then the cavern came into view. it was a monsterous black hole in the side of the mountain, and no traces of snow anywhere close. A thick, smokey smell lingered about the cave, and Sarah's heart thumped faster... was this the end?
"Awright Ms, go un ahe'd. We dun gotta throw ya in do we now?" Xavier commented, undoing the leash, with the other giving her guided pushes in the direction of the cave and following her to the snow's edge... no more. She was smart enough to see the other side ended in a sheer cliff, even not tied up she could never scale it.
She could try running past them...
Sarah looked back slowly, watching the two wave her along with solemn looks plastered to their face. Making as if she were heading inside, she made a break for the far side of the two. her bare feet numbed by the tread through the crunchy snow.
not fast enough, as Xaviers muscled arm hooked her and lifted her up high. legs kicking and muffled screams.
"i din't wana do dis Ms." he said regretfully, and he waddled over to the entrance of the cavern, it decended deeper into the pits of hell. Nothing but blackness.
and she was flying suddenly, if only for a moment before the sickening effects of gravity reached out and lassoed her into the rocky earth. Crys of pain following her tumbled down into the deep.
her decent halted as she rolled into the dusty innards of the cave. Her body ached, cuts and bruises riddled her smooth skin. the cold, unforgiving ground mocked her, and she didn't rise.
closing her eyes made the cavern seem only brighter than it was, echoed drips of water from deeper into the hole resounded in her ears as if it were right next to her. Dank, musty with an added smokey smell like burnt barbeque assaulted her nostrils. her eye's watering from the strength of the scent.
Slowly Sarah shifted, a huge mistake as the scratching noise echoed like a thunderstorm. She went still, frozen, a wince on her face. but nothing happened for several minutes. risking it again, Sarah shifted herself till she was sitting upright. a difficult task without the use of her hands.

A rock came loose from somewhere in the cave, and she halted a quick gasp that made her regret it as something responded with a low growl like the coming storm. A mass of shadow seemed to shift and move, but she couldn't see what it was...
the monster... it knew she was here...
Sarah struggled against the bonds of her hands, the fall had loosened them and must've left deep gashes in the rope. she could feel it coming free, if ever so slightly, one fiber at a time.
A pair of eyes formed two crecent moons lying on their backs. The only thing in this pitch blackness that Sarah could focus on.
The beast had awakened...

Part Three
Now I'm curious as to who's reading this... there are a lot more views than my own visits.

----------------

Her panicked breathing was overcome with the noise of a single, heavy breath from the beast as it awoke from it's slumber. Heat washed over her as the last strands of her bindings refused to snap. Scrambling back, sliding on her side and using her feet to proppel herself across the relatively flat rock floor.
her eye's were getting to the point where she could see defined shapes, unable to tear her gaze from the Demon's awakening she could make out a crown of wickedly curved horns residing atop it's head, extending out over the dully illuminated eyeridge and possibly down past the top of his head. Two horns, curved like a bull, extended out from the back of his head and up. The creature had a snout, like a stallions or a dogs but thinner and more pronounced. It's neck was as thick as a tree's trunk, longer than even the tallest tree's and it's massive body was just one big shadow to her with smaller spines jutting out from it.
SNAP
Her bonds gave away just like that, and the creature's eye's snapped open all the way at that alarming sound. Staring at the cowering girl in his presence, Sarah wasn't going to stay any longer and she forced herself to overcome paralyzing fear and run. Her bare feet padding on the ground, and reaching where she was tossed in... the light at the end of the upwards climb was waiting for her, beckoning her. But as she took the first few steps up the steep incline she felt a sharp pain jolt through her leg and she gave a wailing cry as she fell back.
Her leg, the pain, what happened? did she break it? Sprain? tear?
The walls of the pit closed in around her, and the dark whispers in the back of her mind came forward. telling her that she was going to die, there was no escape...
she was trapped.
As Sarah whimpered from the pain she felt a breath of hot air flow down the back of her neck, tingles going up her spine. She went riged with fear, it was behind her.
The Demon snuffled, pressing it's massive snout into her back and taking in deep whiff's through it's fist-sized nostrils that tugged at her dirtied white dress. It nudged her with it's nose, causing Sarah to yelp... she didn't look back but the warmth of it's breath had gone. Staying still for a few moments, she dared a look back at the thing. Only to see it's head tilted in her direction as if curious, slitted, glowing eye's studying her with a malicious intent.
Why hadn't the demon eaten her already? was... it going to torture her? pick her apart slowly? she couldn't imagine what the creature was thinking.
It did nothing, and minutes passed as the two watched each other in perfect silence. and the little girl became more and more curious of the intentions of the beast.
something skidded across the ground towards her, scratching and slithering. A dark, snake-like thing lifted itself partially off the ground and wrapped itself around one of her legs, the unhurt one. Sarah whimpered at it, shaking that leg as if to dislodge it. her mind was racing with thoughts of what that was or what its goal was. Only noticing after it had let go that the snake-like creature continued back and got larger until it went behind the demon. It's tail?
it wrapped around her other leg, tightening slightly and causing Sarah to cry out in pain only to slacken. It WAS torturing her, whatever sick creation of the gods this was she wasn't going to let it get the satifaction of her screams anymore.
The Demon's tail slithered away back to it's resting place behind it, leaving faint marks on the rock floor that she could just barely see. But... what was the point of that if not to hear her scream? Confused, Sarah tried to shift herself, but bending her leg to find a comfortable position to sit caused it to burn like hell and she gritted her teeth tightly to swallow her cry. The Demon's head tilted again, this time the other way and a quick snap of it's tail that infinitely echoed in the inclosed walls of this pit of darkness and it rested on Sarah's stomach, pressing lightly to keep her down and from moving. The young girl struggled, pushing against its tail to try and lift it off her and wriggle out of it. She felt a cool, smoothness to the demons tail, like the garden snakes she used to pick up and play with when she was younger.
The demon increased the force of its tail, making it impossible to lift but she could still breath and it didn't try to hurt her. Sarah gave up quickly against the powerful tail, and she rested back in defeat...
The demon bowed it's head slightly to get a better look at her over its snout, a scolding look in it's gaze. then the tail slunk off her again.
