Think of this:

In this times pretty much of Fanfictions that were sci-fi includes aliens that have strange things.
But to me, they are pretty much human because of the things 'humanoid', 'culture', and 'anatomy'.

My choice of an alien race would be.....

1.The physical structure of the alien is very flexible and have no appendages unless the aliens wants one. The aapendage will come out of the physical structure and do whatever.
2.The aliens will not use eyes as sensory devices, instead they use a flexible contingent of nerves that transmit hyper-ecolocations that transmits back vision. These prevent eye damage.
3.They also don't need to breath, instead they will sweat in every time and the H2O of the sweat will be processed to Oxygen for themselves. These prevent suffocation.
4.They don't need to eat for energy. They use flexible hormones that spread in every direction to find Carbohydrate and Protein. Each hormone will go into mitosis every time they traveled further than 500 meters. After they found the materials, they will 'go home'.
5.They never make residue. See point 4 for details.
6. They move by atom-movement, the move through jumping and overwriting atoms that makes fast travel.
7. Finally, they defend themselves by overwriting their genes into the invader. No direct contact of offense.

Wow thats 7 points. If you want an alien species, what it would be?

So... its a Box that can sprout tenticles. Wonderful

So they use Sound? like Bats?

this alien sends out chemicals and once these chemicals find something (or travel a set distance) they split in half and go home... Cool

Why not just sprout legs and walk... (or wings and fly)

OK. I will answer some that looks like a question to me:

Sweat in? as in

Sweating on the inside? How?

They sweat on their skin (before you ask, yes, they have skin so they are not boxes). Then the sweat will be absorbed to a skin layer which processes them to Oxygen, and the Hidrogen used for other things.

Hormones are also like cells, but limited to one task with a few subtasks.

Like the flood but without any pain, only the victim sensing that their body is not doing well (i. e. sickness). They use a special appendage hidden within their physical structure that sprouts out and touches the victim. Covered or not. If covered, the appendage will go into mitosis (like a Meristem) and spread genes into uncovered spots, or penetrate weak points of the cover and spread. *to the alien* well, you might have difficulty against power armor.
