New crossover idea.

Alright. Some of you may or may not have noticed the Battlezone 1 (1998) link. If not, thats not a problem. I have been thinking for the past week or so about a Battlezone 1(I can't find a download for the sequel so I'm basing my knowledge off of BZ1) crossover with Mass Effect. First of all this crossover needs a name. However please do not go with something like "zone of effect" or a combination of the names.

I also wish to have first contact with a different species then in canon. However they cannot be the 3 main citadel races as the humans are isolationist and would not wish to get involved with the many different Alien species. The only contact they would have for the next 50 to 75 months would be the first race they met and even that would be strained.

As for FTL in the Red Odyssey Expansion pack they have giant stargates that can transport tanks and supplies. I think in one of the summaries or in game it mentions that due to the stargate they have reached Elysium(i believe the expansion says that Elysium is 10000LYs from the sun or something). They will have New Battlestar Galatica FTL and be able to go around 95 to 150 LYs per jump. They will have no AI or VI.

The "First Contact" will take place in 2284(to put it into perspective the original Battlezone was around the late 1950's to early 1960's so Humanity will have a ton of time to learn more about the race that created the biometal.) Now since they have had about 230 years or so they will be able to create biometal and manipulate the Stargates much more easily.

Now many of you are wondering why I'm not giving the Humans ME tech like the guns and such...its because they are freaking weak. In BZ1 the basic gun(only gun for pilots) was a Plasma Rifle witch could switch to a sniper rifle and fire 3 shots(which will be increased. If anyone wants to create a gun based on the weapons on the tanks then please pm me for ranges or post on this thread). Their vehicles/tanks are also much more incredible. The Tanks made from Biometal can survive THE SURFACE OF VENUS WITH NO ILL EFFECTS! The lava fields on Io damaging the tanks is a game mechanic. I'm not going into Space Battles if i can help it as i have no idea what to equip ships with, what weapons to give them, and all the specifics.

*The Recycler, Armory, and Factory will not require Geyser they will have 4 mini fusion plants instead. In game build times will be used. The Recycler and Factory will be armed with 2 miniguns for base defense. The Armory will only be armed with 1.


**Most Soviet units are equal and or stronger than the American units in most cases. They will not show up in this story as the Americans won in the canon ending.

For the weapons the minigun/chaingun have an ingame range of 150m these will be upped to 1500m.
The AT-Stabber has 150m as a regular range as well this will be equal to the minigun/chaingun. The SP-Stabber is more Advanced than the AT-Stabber and has an ingame range of 250m and will be upped to 1750m. The MAG has 250m and it will be upped to 2500m as it is a very powerful cannon.

The Flash Cannon has an ingame range of 100m and it heats up(aka uses up ammo quickly) very quickly. In this story its range will be upped to 1300m and its overheat time is drastically reduced. It would take 10 minutes of constant firing to overheat the flash cannon.

The TAG Cannon, Shadower, Hornet, Rocket and Sandbag will have 2750m, 2200m, 2200m, 3500m and 3000m respectively. As all the mortars in game have a range of about 250m(excluding the "Splinter") they will have a massive increase in range to nearly 4000m in total. The Pop Gun mortar will go about 500m up instead of 200m. As most of the mortars have a 5m damage radius this will be upped to 15m.

The Splinter will instead now be a motion activated mine that becomes active when an enemy or someone without an IFF tag trips their alarm system. A nonlethal variant has been developed and it will instead hit the enemy/intruder with powerful knockout darts.

Onto Unit Speeds.

Most units go above 30mph or 15m/s. As they have had a long time to increase speed, weapons, and other technology they will all go above 60-200mph depending on the type. The Walker used by the NSDF will be phased out in favor of the SPARTAN Super Heavy Tank. There will be an air-force that consists of some ideas i have that will be polished. If anyone is willing to help with the aircraft that would be great. A few more things. The Humans will have a total of 100 colonies that are all terraformed. Each colony will be able to create and maintain its own biometal force consisting of 1000 - 5000 vehicles depending on the age of the colony.

The "Core" systems aka the Sol system planets such as Earth, Mars, and others will have a huge amount more than that. Estimating around 50000 per planet in the Sol system. Many different moons will be colonized and be defense stations and other similar stations. Now you may be wondering why they would have so many vehicles/defenses on each planet.

Its due to the war with Covenant(yes from Halo. As i said i wouldn't be able to go into space battles I'll just say this...the Covenant win in space with 65/35 chances and on the ground its nearly always a lose due to the superior vehicles of Humanity. This will not become a 3 crossover. The ME races will never encounter the Covenant and its the same for the Covenant. No flood, no halos, no forerunner. Its entirely a case of the Prophets being assholes and invading humanity just for the LOLZ!

Now for the final countdown!(yes yes i know i know)

No. I haven't started on it yet. I can't decide on who i want Humanity to have for their "first contact". Right now its either the Quarians, a Krogan(perhaps Wrex could be fleeing someone and find out about humanity. In time he uses human space to hide from some of his many enemies...change canon a bit more) or the Volus.

This sounds cool so humanity would not have been aided by the prothean ruins meaning they are a new threat to the reapers since they are advancing on a different tier than the rest of the galaxy and not on the reaper's preset plans?

Humanity will be more advanced than the ME races on ground and in space. However, against the Covenant they will have a higher edge on the ground than most. For one all the vehicles can handle at least 2 Wraith Bolts. The Covvies will have learned however to mass produce shield generators on all their vehicles. This gives them a greater edge and more durability. They will also have mobile shield generators are spread amongst their ground forces for the grunts and Jackals giving them extra durability. The Covenant small arms will also be increased but the tanks will be nearly indestructible to them unless massed. Fuel rod guns will be able to take out most of the tanks with enough shots and will have an added homing ability.

The Energy sword will show an odd ability to ignore the Equal Damage Distribution effect of biometal and be able to slice and dice tanks pretty easily...if they can catch them. Seeing the effects of the energy sword the Covenant have developed Plasma lances and equipped them on Ghosts and some lucky elites/brutes. The plasma lance also ignores the EDD and can penetrate and kill the pilot inside. The Plasma Lance will be 25ft long and will activate when in range of a ISDF vehicle. The Ghost will be able to catch up to all vehicles that move from 60mph - 100mph but will be left in the dust by the faster vehicles.

The ISDF (Intergalactic and Space Defense Force) will not have shields due to the strange reactions the tanks have when equipped with shields. When the vehicles are equipped with shields they start to lose control over the vehicle, examples include not firing, erratic motion, unable to stop firing, complete shutdown, and uncontrolled self destruction.

I have 3 choices for the "1st contact" scenario. The Volus, Quarian, and Wrex.

So far the votes are as follows:

If there is any weapon or vehicle that you want the Covenant or ISDF to have then please tell me on this thread or by PM. You will need to give specifics such as Ammo type (laser, plasma, or projectile), its max effective range (EX: Laser Rifle 800m), and the weapon type (EX: Sniper, Rifle, Sidearm *includes SMGs*, Machine Guns, LMGs, Anti Armor *rockets*, and Prototypes).

Please be sure to vote on your choice for "1st contact". As a reminder the Covenant will not encounter the ME races and nor will the ME races encounter the Covenant. If anyone wants to make a Battleship for the humans please have a picture of what you want it to look like and describe its weapon systems.
