Crossovers

Postby Megaraptor18 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 9:51 pm

During the T-101 vs Data thread one of Diana's comments gave me the idea of a Crossover between Star Trek and Terminator

This is what I stated in that thread

"An Arnold looking Terminator in a StarFleet uniform…. Wow after that he will fit in perfectly. I’m serious think about everybody on Star Trek talks like a robot anyway he will be the most popluar guy on the ship and make Star Trek cool or at less fun to watch.

For the record I’m not joking they should make Star Trek: Terminator"

Do you think that crossover would be fun to watch and what crossover ideas do you folks have.

That's an interesting concept.

How would Skynet see the existence of so many humanoids across the galaxy?

How would it see the Borg?

Would Connor look to join the Federation?

Quite interesting.

I for one think that there is great crossover potential between Flash Forward and Fringe. Hell, you could probably throw the oldie Sliders, and the underdog Eureka into that mix. That would be one massive crossover that would rake in the big bucks for SyFy and Fox.

I can also see a Farscape mixing with Firefly/Serenity.

Eureka is an underdog? Its the best show on that list!

I'd be all for a mixing of those. My only concern is the writing style for each series is vastly different, so it could get a little... worrying.

Firefly and eureka work well stylistically, but story wise it'd make no sense whatsoever.

I've always wanted to see a CSI, Bones, House crossover, if only so they could have Stephen Fry do his Psychologist bit on Hugh Laurie, with Grissom watching in amusement.

But Grissom is gone for now. Still, would be a fantastic way to reintroduce him.

Haven't seen the terminator series. Is the writing style fitting with Star Trek?

Um, isn't that the definition of an underdog?

I do believe, but I'm happy to be corrected, that an under-dog is something that has the least likely chance of succeeding. Eurakas cast are good, its script writers are superb and it has a phenominal director... I'd consider them to have a more than fair chance

Well, yea.

An underdog is an individual whom by all appereances would be the least likely to come out on top of a conflict. You're absolutely correct about that. In this case, I only outline Eureka as the underdog between those four shows because they are better known/more successful. I certanly do not pass judgement on any of these shows' qualities.

I suppose I give the word my own spin on the definition. Although underdog may suggest that individual will likely "lose", my personal beleif is that BECAUSE the subject is so "looked down" upon, it will have a slight advantage to be the victor as they are almost always underestimated.

Bottom line, I never use the term Underdog as a derogatory.
