What is the difference?

Postby Zolanius » Wed Apr 10, 2013 4:27 pm

Got to wondering, is there a difference between a battle mage and a spellsword? Because some people think they're the same while others attempt to differentiate the two. Thoughts?

Is this in a novel, card game, or board game?

Well, I think it could be that the magic comes from the spell sword, and that battle mage's magic comes from the mage himself....other than that, I don't think they fight any different.....maybe.

I just notice the terms being thrown around a lot. Different people I guess. The kind of warrior I usually go for in RPG or table games is a guy who can use magic and physical skill equally. Usually doubling as an arcane "craftsman" of sorts.

The only concrete common ground between the two is that they might be some kind of Magic Knight if I'm not mistaken.

I also wonder if there are differences between runes, glyphs and sigils, along with a difference between curses, hexes and jinxes.

That too.
If I'm not mistaken, cases taking pages from Odin's volumes(as noted well in the Admiral's Pantheon Wars project in the articles area) might be specially effective with both sets, but the set of differences between the two means of Magical spellcasting is another matter to note beyond that concrete ground.

It all might just be the same stuff defined by different people.
