Last call - I'm going to submit the article with this one due to it being the favorite.

Any opposed?

I second this flag. Submit the article.

I think the top color should be the lighter gold-ish, but other than that I like it.

It looks more brownish red to me.

I am not particularly keen to the three horizontal stripes. While they would be fantastic to showcase our beginnings outside our own domain, it feels redundant should the flag only be used within the mainland and the wiki. It screams too much "empty webpage" to me.

That being said, I am also ok with it being put forth officially. You've done solid work towards it, and the voice of the many outweighs the voice of the few. Good job, K.

The top color is ripped directly from the title picture with the saturation being upped a bit.

I understand your concern, but what alternatives do you have that aren't tacky?

Vertical stripes seem a better alternative to me if only to help it stand appart from the staple "top banner>body>footnote" basic web design. Diagonal may also be up for consideration.

But again, the horizontal stripes does have an advantage that if this goes on to be used outside the web, it would be much more symbolic of its web origins. If, say, the design waas to be used in merchandise such as baseball caps or graphic tees, the horizontal stripes would be more than appropriate. Imagine if you will those two items with FP's logo in front, and that flag embroidered at the back to signify not just an Admin-approved item, but one approved by Pilers as a community.

Still, I also see that working very well with the vertical stripes. I guess its just a thing of preferrence at this point.
